Introduction

Transparency and inclusion is a critical part of our vision for the Jones DAO community. We always want to ensure that what we’re building accounts for community input and requests. Part of that focus on transparency includes fully disclosing JONES token allocation for founders and investors, vesting periods, and team compensation. Token Allocations

Our token allocations are conservative for our team and investors and are in-line with leading protocol allocations:

The total team allocation of 12% is split amongst our core team members and founders. Tokens and vesting periods for the team are as follows:

  • @0x_ultra: 5.0% (500,000 JONES) vested over 18 months
  • @FroyoFren: 5.0% (500,000 JONES) vested over 18 months
  • @GilgameshOfJPEG: 1.0% (100,000 JONES) vested over 18 months
  • @Halko500k: 0.5% (50,000 JONES) vested over 18 months
  • @witherblock: 0.5% (50,000 JONES) vested over 18 months

As core founders, @0x_ultra and @FroyoFren will also receive $500K each in stables vested over a 6 month period.

Jones DAO has allocated 9.67% of the total supply to seed round investors. These tokens have a 3 month cliff (meaning vesting does not start until 3 months after launch) and a 6 month vesting period. The price of these seed round tokens was $3.10 per token with a fully diluted value (FDV) of $31M.

Our Core Team

The Jones DAO team consists of a variety of technical and operational backgrounds. Our experiences range from quantitative trading to venture capital in the traditional financial space. The majority of the team’s investment experience specifically comes from the derivatives, options, and trading sector. Additionally, both @Halko500k and @witherblock are members of the core Dopex team. The Jones DAO team is highly experienced and uniquely positioned to execute on the overall vision of the DAO.

Multisig

Our treasury is currently managed by a multisig. The multisig requires 3 out of 5 signers to execute an action and is currently overseen by @FroyoFren, @0x_ultra, @Halko500k, @GilgameshOfJPEG, and @witherblock. Our strategy multisig is currently managed by the same group that managed the vaults during the initial epoch. Starting next epoch the vaults will become trustless and the multisig will simply set the strategy parameters.

Prior to launch, @xenes1s was originally 1 of the 5 multisig signers. @xenes1s is a core team member at Dopex and was extremely helpful during the development and launch of Jones DAO. He has since opted to pursue some personal projects and has been replaced on the multisig by @GilgameshofJPEG. Gilgamesh is deeply involved in the DeFi options space and is a vocal and respected member of the community.

Compensation for Team Members

Jones DAO is focused on attracting strong talent with a keen understanding of the options space and an ability to surpass user expectations. We’ve aligned our general compensation structure in a way that we believe is both competitive and fair.

Our compensation table allocates monthly salaries (paid in stables) and JONES allocations across Engineering, General (includes business, strategy, UX design, etc.) and Content. The allocation columns to the right of each silo indicate a total JONES allocation, vested linearly over 3 years. The level of each team member will be evaluated on a rolling basis to ensure that performance targets are consistently met.

Open Roles

We’re growing fast and are looking to hire a Senior Solidity Developer, a Junior Solidity Developer and a Junior UI/UX Designer. The senior solidity role would fall within the level 8-10 pay band above while the junior UI/UX position would be in the level 6-8 pay band (Core 1-3). Note that UI/UX salaries and allocations are in the blue “General” column.

Senior Solidity Developer

Jones DAO is looking for a skilled Solidity developer interested in joining our team full time. As a solidity developer at Jones you will have access to:

  • A respectful, focused team that knows how to have fun and build the future of DeFi natives.
  • Pay in stablecoins + vesting in native $JONES to enjoy the growth of the protocol

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in solidity smart contract development
  • Good understanding of smart contract security principles
  • Good understanding of smart contract testing using hardhat

Junior Solidity Developer

Jones DAO is looking for a Solidity developer interested in joining our team full or part-time. As a solidity developer at Jones you will have access to:

  • A respectful, focused team that knows how to have fun and build the future of DeFi natives.
  • Pay in stablecoins + vesting in native $JONES to enjoy the growth of the protocol

Requirements:

  • Some experience deploying contracts on non-test networks
  • Passionate about DeFi and development
  • Willing to learn alongside the rest of the solidity team

UI/UX Designer

Jones DAO is looking for a skilled Junior UI/UX Designer interested in joining our team part time. As a UI/UX designer at Jones you will have access to:

  • A respectful, focused team that knows how to have fun and build the future of DeFi natives.
  • Pay in stablecoins + vesting in native $JONES to enjoy the growth of the protocol

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years  of experience in UI/UX design
  • Advanced experience in both Sketch and Figma
  • High degree of comfort with managing design systems, flexible components, and auto-layouts
  • Track record of building mobile-first content, advanced UI dashboards, forms, and a background in Crypto, DeFi and Graphic Design/UI/mobile background preferred

Our compensation guidelines are reasonable given the group of unique backgrounds at the cutting-edge of DeFi that we have assembled.
